2011 Open Juried Exhibition

As photography entered the digital age, artists working in the medium have been drawn to the ability to compete with the grandeur of paintings and other large-scale media. Unfettered by traditional darkroom processing, fine art photography on exhibit no longer limits itself by size.

In response to this trend, Photomedia Center has dedicated its 2011 Open Juried Exhibition to displaying small photographic works, to remind viewers of the level of detail that can still be captured and the feeling of intimacy when you approach a small object. Diminutive images that work well can deliver big impact.

Jurors Louviere+Vanessa selected 20 works by seven artists from the international pool of applicants this year. Works were on exhibit at Glass Growers Gallery, 10 E. 5th Street, Erie, Pennsylvania, from September 23 thought October 31, 2011.

Selected artists included: Sandi Daniel, Adrienne Defendi, J.M. Golding, Daniel Jackson, Randy Jennings, Russell Joslin, and Roxana Marroquin.
